Misinformation and Disinformation Abound

As noted elsewhere on this website, well intended researchers clearly disagree on certain aspects of what exactly occurred on 9/11/01 – not to mention the raging debates abounding about the “Why” and “Who” of all that happened on that tragic day. Inevitably, inaccurate 9/11 “Truth” misinformation will be posted on the WEB and passed along by individuals who truly wish to promote the cause and aims of the mainstream 9/11 Truth Movement. Additionally, there is ample reason to assume that deliberate disinformation is also being spread by opponents of the 9/11 Truth Movement. Without doubt, the goal of such disinformation specialists is to discredit our challenge to the formal US government backed 9/11/01 narrative and to spread distrust, rancor and conflict throughout the 9/11 Truth Movement. An excellent discussion – including a list of suspected websites – of how disinformation is being used to discredit and undermine the 9/11 Truth Movement can be found at http://www.truthmove.org/content/disinformation.

I have noted with concern, however, an increasing tendency among sincere advocates of 9/11 Truth to challenge both misinformation and probable disinformation with back stabbing, name calling and invective. This type of response to either misinformation or disinformation can only undermine 9/11 Truth Movement solidarity. Furthermore, what we might thus call the “Character Assassination” approach to critiquing ideas we may perceive as misguided, bizarre or duplicitous, is bound to weaken our case in the eyes of those who still hold fast to the formal 9/11/01 narrative. Thus the purpose of this article is to offer ideas, with a concrete example, regarding how we need to stand, individually and collectively, in our thoughts words and actions toward our opponents – as well as towards those with whom we simply disagree – if we are truly intent on achieving national and global transformation.

Challenging Inaccuracies With The Force Of Truth And Love

Two thousand years ago Jesus put it quite simply when he instructed his followers to “Love your enemies”. And well before Jesus the Buddha cautioned that “Hatred never ceases by hatred, but by love alone is healed. This is an ancient and eternal law. In our modern era, great spiritual and political activists, such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi, have made these ancient principles the bedrock of the movements they spearheaded. If the 9/11 Truth Movement intends to go down in history as a force that transformed America, we too must ground our own activism in the ideals and principles that inspired Jesus, Buddha, Gandhi and Dr. King. Therefore, in all aspects of our political activism I most strongly encourage each of us to remain mindful of the words of Dr. King regarding “Non-Violent Activism” and the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi regarding “Satyagraha”.

To learn more about the philosophy, means and goals of Satyagraha, link here to the Metta Center website. The principles of “Satyagraha” were proclaimed aloud by Gandhi to his followers and allies on September 11, 1906. The foundation of Satyagraha is also summarized succinctly in the brief video which follows below. Isn’t it an interesting “coincidence” that the 9/11/01 plotters chose the same September 11th date to proclaim their commitment to violent aggression?!

Satyagraha: The Non-Violent Pursuit of Truth

To acquire a deeper understanding of the potential power of nonviolent activism, and to explore the motivation behind the murder of Dr. King, note that Attorney William Pepper has written a remarkable book, Orders to Kill: The Truth Behind the Murder of Martin Luther King, Jr.  This masterpiece of detailed and verifiable research documents our government’s guilt in the assassination of Dr. King.  The essence of Pepper’s myth shattering investigation – and the power of Martin Luther King’s message of nonviolence –  is captured succinctly in the following excerpt from a published review of Orders to Kill:

In order to comprehend the significance of this extraordinary book, it is first necessary to dispel a widely accepted falsehood about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. William Pepper does that on the first page.

“To understand his death, it is essential to realize that although he is popularly depicted and perceived as a civil rights leader, he was much more than that.  A non-violent revolutionary, he personified the most powerful force for the long-overdue social, political, and economic reconstruction of the nation.”

In other words, Martin Luther King was a transmitter of a non-violent spiritual and political energy so plenipotent that his very existence was a threat to an established order based on violence, racism, and economic exploitation.  He was a very dangerous man.

More recently Attorney Pepper has updated and expanded his investigation into Dr. King’s assassination. His latest book The Plot to Kill King: The Truth Behind the Assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. offers more details than ever before of how, in the late 1960s, the American government – feeling threatened by the emerging collective demand for racial justice, social change and an end to the Viet Nam War – responded to an increasingly potent movement by stopping its most effective leader dead in his tracks.

To learn about the civil trial that confirmed Martin Luther King was assassinated by the United States government in order to put an end to his promotion of non-violent resistance to the Viet Nam War, link here to Martin Luther King assassinated by US Government: King Family civil trial verdict and also visit the King Center website page on the MLK assassination civil trial.

Additionally, scroll down to the video clip that follows below, after my letter challenging the work of Dr. Judy Wood, to hear Dr. King declare “The Power of Non-Violence” to the nearly 300,000 people who marched on Washington for civil rights in 1963.

A Respectful Challenge To The Work Of Dr. Judy Wood

Dr. Judy Wood has offered the theory that exotic energy beam weaponry was used to precipitate the collapses of the World Trade Centers on 9/11/01. A video of Dr. Wood presenting her theory can be viewed at this site: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qX1zX5RHC3M. Many people have attacked Dr. Wood with invective and ridicule – accusing her of undermining the 9/11 Truth Movement by presenting her exotic weaponry theory. Keeping the principles of Non-Violent Activism in mind, here is the core of a letter I sent in June of 2013 to the Boston 9/11 Truth mailing list regarding my concerns about the work of Dr. Judy Wood.

Hello friends,

Increasing numbers of 9/11 Truth Activists have shown interest in the work of Judy Wood, PhD. A video of Dr. Wood presenting her theory can be viewed at this site: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qX1zX5RHC3M. Dr. Wood has put forth the theory that exotic “Energy Weapons” were used to demolish the 3 WTC Buildings on 9/11/01. The informed opinion of a wide range of experts is that this theory does not in any way hold up to disciplined scientific inquiry. The link featured here, from the website of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth explains in detail why Judy Wood’s theory is in no way a viable explanation for what caused the WTC buildings to collapse.

In my opinion, the poor quality of Judy Wood’s research is undermining the credibility of the 9/11 Truth Movement as a whole. It is the foundation of rigorous and replicable research, that is building the case we are working to present in a convincing manner to the American people. Promoting highly speculative theories that are easily challenged can only serve to undermine the momentum we have been so successful in creating over the past few years.

Therefore I would encourage all of us to consider simply referring inquiries about this subject to the material linked here.

Here again is the AE9/11Truth page on this subject:

Applying Non-Violent Confrontation to 9/11 Truth Activism

In the letter above I attempted to simply challenge Dr. Wood’s theory and perspective. Principles of Non-Violent Confrontation, and the application of the Force of Truth, involved in my crafting of this letter were as follows:

  • Confront ideas and behaviors without personally attacking or needlessly maligning the motives of the person who holds these ideas.
  • Offer your audience a clear pathway to hear your opponent’s perspective.
  • Offer your audience access to detailed information that refutes your opponent’s perspective.
  • Speak respectfully without name calling or swearing.
  • Hold fast to the desire that proponents of both misinformation and disinformation will be freed from mistaken ideas and misguided allegiances.
  • Humbly recognize that we too are sometimes “mistaken” and needlessly in conflict with others.  From that recognition may we all soften our hearts.   In the silence of that soft space let’s seek to forgive our enemies – including those whom we may need to incarcerate for years to come once 9/11 Truth prevails – and release our harsh and unkind judgments of those we see as “wrong”.

I encourage all “Imagine Peace and Plenty” readers, who join with me in desiring to bring the darkly hidden secrets of 9/11 Truth out into the open Light of day, to study Gandhi’s principles of Satyagraha (detailed in greater depth at http://www.mkgandhi.org) as well as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s principles of societal transformation. Key to both Gandhi’s and Dr. King’s visions was their commitment to respectful confrontation of political opponents by means of loving kindness, non-violent activism and the proclamation of Truth. The video below captures Dr. King’s inspired communication of these central ideas as he speaks with power and passion, at the 1963 March On Washington.

Martin Luther King on the Power of Non-Violence

Without resorting to controversial theories, or rancorous debate, the disingenuous nature of the formal 9/11/01 narrative can easily be exposed by attending to the obvious implications of many of the undisputable facts of that day.  Link here to exam Forty Fact Based Reasons to Question 9/11!
