Undermining the 9/11 Truth Movement from Within

Cognitive Infiltration, as it applies in this context, is the effort to destroy the 9/11 Truth Movement from within. That effort has many facets. In order to comprehend fully the subversive nature of this secretive strategy of deceit, and to put it into clear historical context, please invest an hour in viewing this documentary film.

Sure signs of the growing strength of the 9/11 Truth Movement are the increasingly desperate efforts of our opponents to undermine and discredit us utilizing the tools and techniques of Cognitive Infiltration! One early example of this was the 2005 Popular Mechanics article Debunking the 9/11 Myths: Special Report – Popular Mechanics. This article gives the impression that its intention is to refute core arguments of the 9/11 Truth Movement, while in reality it simply points to, and then refutes, ridiculous deliberate disinformation – or fringe element – arguments that were never advanced by competent 9/11/01 researchers.Shoddy research and such “Straw Man” arguments are on embarrassingly amateur display in the Popular Mechanics article.

The Popular Mechanics “Debunking” article is skillfully deconstructed in rebuttals by the Architects and Engineers team, found at Debunking Popular Mechanics – Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth, and by 9/11/01 researcher Jim Hoffman at http://911research.wtc7.net/essays/gopm/indexg.html. But undoubtedly many readers of Popular Mechanics came away from reading the story believing 9/11 Truth Activists must be a band of ill-informed amateurs or outright kooks.

Infiltration by our opponents is not always easy to spot!

More subtle forms of Cognitive Infiltration have occurred as legitimate debates have been seeded with disinformation and then carefully nourished in a way that is intended to promote division and suspicion within the 9/11 Truth Movement. The Pentagon Attack Controversy is a case in point.

There is, and should be, honest debate in the 9/11 Truth Movement regarding questions such as “What hit the Pentagon?” However, it is also undeniable that a deliberate effort is being undertaken by the true 9/11/01 attack plotters, and their allies, to sabotage our movement by infecting it with lies, half-truths, character assassination, and deliberately false conclusions! It is the challenge of spiritually based activism to simply point to falsehoods without digressing into needlessly personal attacks.

There are times however, when we must name names and challenge motives. It is from that perspective that, reluctantly, I maintain the work of self declared 9/11 Truth advocate Gordon Duff, and his publication “Veterans Today”, is a glaring example of how truth and lies can be skillfully blended to confuse and misdirect activists.  A detailed examination of Veterans Today’s strategic implementation of cognitive infiltration is offered in the article linked here – “Veteran’s Today is Disinfo”.

The   “Burning the trolls”  article in particular – from the 7/16/2014 edition of Veterans Today – is revelatory of Gordon Duff’s disinformation campaign. In that article Veterans Today offers a challenge to the questionable work of a supposed troll, which he then skillfully weaves into an attack on several unambiguously rock solid proven long time allies of the 9/11 Truth Movement – Richard Gage, Steven Jones and Niels Harrit.

Initially, in a 2010 article Duff had praised Richard Gage and the work of Architects and Engineers for 9/11/Truth, thus solidifying his reputation as an ally of the 9/11 Truth Movement. But by 2014, in his July 16^th “Burning the Trolls” article, he is “exposing” Gage – and other proven hard science based 9/11 Truth researchers – as secretive “trolls” who have been working for the government plotters all along by feeding us the nanothermite “nonsense”! And in a truly bizarre attack on Richard Gage, on 8/27/14, now well established as a courageous “9/11 Truther”, Duff stuns and terrifies his audience with the following “revelation”. “Yesterday’s broadcast of Veterans Today Radio (8-27-14) changed the history of 9/11 Truth forever! Gordon Duff of US Intelligence disclosed the shocking revelation that one of the main leaders of “Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth” has been identified in the actual planning of the 9/11 Attack! This information has been confirmed from an inside source within the Department of Justice who also has stated that “Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth” as well as all other 9/11 Truth Groups are fully infiltrated with government and police informants! Their purpose is to actively gather and collect information about 9/11 Truth members and report it to their superiors. So far worse than being gatekeepers they are actual government agents!”

The take home message from Duff about the most effective force in the 9/11 Truth Movement?…”Stay away from any kind of connection with Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth if you don’t want to end up on a government list yourself!”

The researchers at the Oil Empire site explain how Cognitive Infiltration has been applied to the Pentagon attack debate.  These researchers first offer credence to the position that it was indeed a Boeing 757 aircraft – most probably American Airlines Flight 77 – that crashed into the Pentagon. However, they then go on to explain how debate has been deliberately fueled by disinformation specialists about whether it was Flight 77, a small guided plane or a missile that struck the Pentagon – with the goal of dividing and distracting the 9/11 Truth Movement.

With regard to this parallel goal of distraction, the Oil Empire researchers state:

“…no plane at the Pentagon” has been the most successful disinformation meme used against the 9/11 truth movement, which distracts from the fact the Pentagon was hit in the mostly empty part, why the Air Force did not defend its own headquarters and the roles of the multiple war games run by the military and intelligence agencies that morning.”

The plan to infiltrate and discredit the 9/11 Truth Movement – along with other groups our government feels threatened by – is openly detailed by Cass Sunstein in his 2008 paper “Conspiracy Theories”. Mr Sunstein went on to serve as President Obama’s information czar subsequent to writing this paper.
